Sunday, Nov 15, 2009

Download this episode (83 min)

In the Geek world it has been universally accepted that the best movie themes have been from horror or superhero movies. On the latest edition of Geek Salad, Andy and Mike G. put that theory to the test.

Take a tour in Episode 19: "Whose Score is It Anyway?" of some of the greatest movie scores of the past 30 years as the Geeks cover such luminaries as Howard Shore ("Lord of the Rings"), Thomas Newman ("Wal-E"), Hans Zimmer ("The Lion King," "The Dark Knight") and newcomers like Henry Gregson-Williams ("The Chronicles of Narnia") and Michael Giacchino ("Star Trek," "Up"). Then take a trip to the Movie Score Hall of Fame with John Williams and Danny Elfman.

Episode 17: You Require More Vespene Gas

In the 90's, console video game systems such as the Playstation, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and the N64 ruled all of nerd-dom. Join the men who spent that time saturated in Sour Cream and Onion powder and sweating Mountain Dew...the same men that, today, dare ask the question "What the hell did you pick E. Honda for???"

Join Andy, Mike, and Mike as they cover the very, very good, and very, VERY bad of 90's video games. Which was the preferred system? The Super NES or the Sega Genesis? Was Mortal Kombat better than Street Fighter II? And what in god's name happened to the Sega Dreamcast? All these questions will be answered on Geek Salad Episode 17: "You Require More Vespene Gas!"

In the not too distant future...next Sunday A.D, there was a show called "Geek Salad" who was missing Mikey C....

A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away...

It has been ten years since the release of the first of George Lucas' "Star Wars" prequels, and Andy, Mike, and special guest Jedi Mike G are at their station to go over the good and the bad of the second part of this sci-fi saga.

Was "Phantom Menace" really that bad? Was "Attack of the Clones" really that good? And why would George Lucas think that we'd really be interested in "Boba Fett: The Wonder Years?"

All these questions, as well as critiques of the Prequel and Extended Universe video games, and the Clone Wars animated series will be answered in Geek Salad Episode 14: Midichlorian Mania!!!
